The man, who is white, 5ft 7in tall with very short dark brown hair, has approached young girls in Salisbury.

Investigating officer Pc Wendy Mason said: "Luckily no girls have been physically accosted or hurt in any way.

"However, this man's actions are distressing... and his behaviour has to give cause for concern." The man was wearing a dark zip-up coat with white trainers with stripes on the instep, police said.

He has approached girls in the Old George Mall, on the River Walk at the rear of Iceland and in both Stratford Road and Castle Road.

Officers have released a CCTV picture of the man and are asking anyone who has seen or can identify him to contact them.
